Badger Surveys

Badgers can be found in a variety of habitats including in urban areas. They are protected under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992. Generally using heavy machinery within 30m of a sett (even if the sett is outside your site) is illegal without prior mitigation and licensing. Activities which might result in loss of a large area of foraging habitat or which obstruct a sett are also likely to be illegal.

Ecological Sustainability Limited can survey for presence of badgers and advise on how to resolve any badger issues you might have. Badger surveys can generally be carried out to some extent all through the year. Despite this, some types of survey are more effective at certain times of year. It is recommended that any potential badger issues are investigated at an early stage to avoid potential delays.
