Bat Surveys
Bats roost in a variety of locations. These can include such areas as roofs or other features on buildings, in underground areas such as tunnels, within cracks and other features on trees. They also forage around such areas as trees, rough grass, hedges and shrubs and waterbodies. In Britain 18 species of bats can be found, all of which are protected under European law. Ecological Sustainability are able to assess your site for likelihood of bat presence. If bats are thought likely to be present we can offer a full range of detailed bat surveys. These vary from activity surveys to building inspections and long-term monitoring using automatic bat detectors. Our surveys will be tailored to the type of site and level of survey detail required. Some survey methods can be carried out for a limited period each year, so early investigation of bat issues is recommended.
